LIMA — A 31-year-old Lima man will be formally arraigned Thursday in Allen County Common Pleas Court on murder and other charges related to the April 3 death of a toddler following an incident that reportedly took place at a Lima residence.
Gabriel Salyers, 31, was indicted by the recent session of the Allen County grand jury on charges of aggravated murder, murder, endangering children, domestic violence and possession of drugs for his alleged role in the death of 18-month-old Jaxxon Sullivan. Police say the infant was the son of Salyers’ live-in girlfriend.
According to court documents, police responded April 1 to 826 Oak St. in response to the report of an unresponsive toddler. The infant was transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center due to several reported injuries and was later transferred to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo in critical condition. He died less than two days later.
