LIMA —An Allen County jury found a 19-year-old from Indianapolis guilty for his complicity in the armed robbery of a Lima Walgreens drug store earlier this year.
The jury handed down a guilty verdict to aggravated robbery with a firearms specification, a first-degree felony, to Quintez Hawkins, 19, of Indianapolis. A sentencing hearing for Hawkins has been set at 9 a.m. Jan. 21.
In closing arguments, Hawkins’ attorney, Stephen Chamberlain, said the prosecution’s evidence did not prove his client’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. He argued the internet search history into previous pharmacy robberies could have been Hawkins researching the consequence of being caught committing that specific crime.
