LIMA — The jury in the Ross McWay rape trial will get the case Thursday morning after attorneys deliver closing argument in a case that hinges on the issue of whether sex was consensual.
The trial is lasting longer than expected and Allen County Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey Reed apologized to the jury for that while asking if anyone had a hardship created by the length of it. No juror did.
The jury spent Thursday listening to Lima Police Detc. Steve Stechschulte explain parts of his investigation against McWay including covering a series of text messages between the alleged victim’s father who grew concerned that McWay was with his daughter.
