LIMA — A Lima man was sentenced to 30 years in prison Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to rape, assault and burglary charges.
Judge David Cheney of Allen County Common Pleas Court sentenced 49-year-old George Nance to 11 years in prison for aggravated burglary, six years for attempted rape, and eight years for felonious assault. The aggravated burglary charge is a first-degree felony, while the attempted rape and felonious assault charges are second-degree felonies.
Nance received an additional five years in prison for a repeat violent offender specification, which was related to the burglary and assault charges. The repeat violent offender status meant Nance was convicted of violent crimes in the past.
