LIMA — A 39-year-old Lima man deemed to be a repeat violent offender will spend the next 20 years in prison after his sentencing Wednesday morning in Allen County Common Pleas Court on felony charges of kidnapping, abduction and aggravated burglary.
Marvell L. Sanders, of 504 Orena Ave., was indicted nearly a year ago on first-degree felony charges of kidnapping and aggravated burglary, in addition to a third-degree felony charge of abduction, a second-degree felony charge of felonious assault and a misdemeanor count of domestic violence.
The charges stemmed from an incident that took place in Lima in the early hours of July 9, 2016. Prosecutors said Sanders restrained and terrorized the victim in the case, Andrea L. Morris, and “knowingly, by force or threat,” restrained Morris and “recklessly inflicted or attempted or threatened to inflict physical harm” on the victim at her residence. According to court documents, Sanders is the biological father of Morris’ children and had been in a long-term relationship with the victim.
