LIMA — The 19-year-old Lima resident who in early June allegedly threatened to “shoot it up” at Elida schools later this fall has been indicted by an Allen County grand jury.
Tristan Ascura will be arraigned July 23 on charges of inducing panic, a second-degree felony, and making a terrorist threat, a felony of the third degree. Both counts include specifications that a firearm was used in the commission of the crimes. The specifications each carry a mandatory three-year prison sentence upon conviction.
The inducing panic charge alleges that Ascura “did cause the evacuation of any public place, or otherwise cause serious public inconvenience or alarm by initiating or circulating a report or warning of an alleged or impending fire, explosion, crime or other catastrophe … and the public place involved was a school.”
